Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation Kick-It Champion Program
Kick-It was started in 2009 by a 10-year old cancer patient that decided to hold a neighborhood kickball game to raise money for research. Events are now being held in schools, stadiums and parks all over the country and as far away as Australia. Kick-It is more than just playing kickball, it is about people coming together to cure pediatric cancer. In addition to the traditional kickball events, we are excited to introduce our Kick-It Champion program.
Ohio All-State football player, Matt Colella who battled cancer as a middle school student, started the Kick-It Champion program, by asking others to pledge a dollar amount for each point he made as his team’s kicker. His commitment to help others inspired his community and athletes around the country to become Kick-It Champions for children with cancer.
As Kick-It Champions, athletes make a personal pledge and/or challenge friends, family, colleagues and fans to pledge a dollar amount for each point, lap, goal, etc. achieved throughout the season. Personalized web pages can be set up in just a few minutes, all materials are provided and Kick-It coaches are available to help every step of the way.
