JEFF GORDON, NO. 24 DRIVE TO END HUNGER CHEVROLET SS – 2ND IN STANDINGS

(ON NEW HAMPSHIRE): “Loudon always seems to be a good track for us, although it didn’t appear to be the case when the green (flag) waved the last time we were there. The car was ‘undriveable’ at the start and we lost a lap early, but it was because one of the tires was slowly losing air. Once we got the (chassis) adjustments back in it, the car was really fast – so that gives us some confidence as we head into this weekend.”

(ON START TO CHASE): “We had a good, solid start to the Chase last weekend at Chicago, and we hope to continue that this weekend. In these early rounds, wins are nice – but solid races and solid finishes like we had at Chicago can get you through to the next round.”

At New Hampshire, Jeff Gordon has 3 wins, 6 poles, 16 top fives, 22 top tens, has an average starting position of 9.6, an average finishing position of 11 and has led 1,371 laps.
