Hi, I’m Donna from Richmond, VA. First, I want to thank you for selecting me as the Fan Club member of the month for October. I feel honored. This is my 1st year of being a member of the Fan Club. I had to join as soon as I heard it was going to be Jeff’s last year of racing. I have been a NASCAR fan (Richard Petty) all my life. My son is the one that became a fan of Jeff’s back in 1992. He was only 8 at the time. I jumped on the Jeff Gordon fan wagon since his dad & I were always on the look out for anything with Jeff Gordon on it and Richard wasn’t racing anymore. We have collected quite a few Jeff Gordon items over the years. We are very impressed with the things he does off the track for children suffering from cancer. We have given a few times to the Jeff Gordon’s Children’s Foundation the 2nd Annual Kick it with Karsyn. We have been to several races in Richmond over the year. This year it was exciting to see so many Jeff Gordon fans in the stands. My son missed the spring race because of the rain delay moving the race to Sunday but he was able to make it to the fall race and Jeff made it into the Chase. I love seeing Jeff’s family with him on the weekends. I know Chase Elliott is taking over for him next year but I am waiting on Leo or Ella to take over the #24. Jeff is very professional in everything he does including voicing his displeasure in other racecar drivers. Love the Jeff Gordon Test Drive videos. I have 1 more race scheduled for this year at Martinsville. I have entered the VIP experience contest. I hope I get picked but I’d be a nervous wreck to actually meet him. I will probably cry. I cry now when they do intros on race days or talk about him retiring. I don’t know what I’m going to be like when the last race rolls around. I’m going to need a big box of tissues. I will miss Jeff racing terribly on the track but I guess we can see him in the booth but it won’t be the same. Championship #5 is coming for the G.O.A.T in his final year.
