September Fan of the Month - Charles Ball
What a honor to be the September Fan of the Month. My name is Charles Ball. I'm a retired police officer from NJ now living in the mountains of Virginia with my bride of 50 years. I've been watching NASCAR for over 25 years and a fan of Jeff Gordon since he started racing in the Cup Series.
I have been to numerous fan events and had the pleasure of meeting Jeff ten times. The most exciting time was at Martinsville's last Winston Cup Race, October of 2003. I was fortunate to be in the pits when he won the race and somehow got to be the first person to shake his hand when he got out of the car on the start/finish line. That was a day I will always remember.
I also got to work with the #24 pit crew filling meal bags for the AARP two years ago. Great team to work with. I am impressed with Jeff's sportsmanship, driving talent and all the charitable work he does. He never forgets to thank the people he works with or to congratulate other drivers. This is Jeff's year to win Championship #5. Go Jeff Go!!!!!!!
