Hi Fellow Jeff Gordon Fans and Family!
My name is Diane Hunt, from Ohio, AKA the "Jeff Gordon Stalker" because I go to so many races taking photos and posting them to FB so those who can't go to a race can enjoy the experience from my view. I'm sitting in my garage where I display many of Jeff's car parts and items. I started collecting car parts a few years ago after my first trip to HMS.
I became a Jeff Gordon fan about 1999 after casually watching NASCAR as a teenager in the 70's. Just happen to pick him because he was successful and I liked his personality on and off the track. I love Jeff for his driving ability, but most of all how he treats others by caring so much with the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation, AARP Drive To End Hunger, and people in general. I have tried to learn from Jeff what it means to give to someone in need. I had my name on Jeff's hood last year and decided to donate to AARP for myself along with 8 of my friend's in a Jeff Gordon FB group. I wanted to put some of their names on the hood for the "Ironman" race so we could ride together with Jeff in his last year making history at the same time. They were like kid's on Christmas morning as they found their names on the hood and wore their shirts for the race posting their pics.
I first met Jeff for a VIP last year at Phoenix. I told Jeff it was on my "Bucket List" to meet him as I was just diagnosed with Heart Failure a few months before. I had the time of my life and Jeff hugged me before I parted telling me he wanted to see me at more races. I'll never forget that moment as long as I live. It helped me to want to live, to become stronger, and to beat my condition. I managed to be called a miracle in March of this year and am enjoying going to races to see Jeff as much as I can. Homestead will be my 11th race weekend this year.
I just got home from Martinsville...what a thrill that was! Probably my favorite as I watched Jeff and Team 24 in Victory Lane! I'm so thrilled I'll be going to Homestead-Miami to see Jeff for another VIP Experience with my husband to wish Jeff well before he gets his 5th Championship and have a photo opp with my two favorite guys! Can't wait to call Jeff 5-Time!!! Good luck in the booth next year Jeff! I know you'll do fine and can't wait for that, so you can spend more time with your loving family. #24Ever a fan!!!
