NASCAR on FOX at Dover International Speedway 14.1 - 800

NASCAR heads to Dover International Speedway this weekend, with FOX Sports set to offer 21 hours of live action from the one-mile concrete oval. Included are FS1’s live coverage of the NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES on Sunday, May 15 (1:00 PM ET) and the NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES on Friday, May 13 (5:30 PM ET), as well as FOX’s live presentation of the NASCAR XFINITY SERIES race on Saturday, May 14 (2:00 PM ET).

On Sunday, Mike Joy leads the FOX NASCAR booth with analysis from NASCAR Hall of Famer Darrell Waltrip, four-time champ Jeff Gordon and former crew chief Larry McReynolds. Jamie Little, Vince Welch and Matt Yocum cover pit road. Chris Myers hosts the network’s pre-race coverage on NASCAR RACEDAY, beginning at 11:30 AM ET, alongside analysts Michael Waltrip, Gordon and Darrell Waltrip.

Other than the 600 at Charlotte, which airs on FOX (Sunday, May 29 at 5:30 PM ET), FS1 airs live coverage of the balance of NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES races scheduled during FOX Sports’ portion of the 2016 NASCAR season. In addition, FS1 airs the NASCAR SPRINT ALL-STAR RACE from Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 21 (9:00 PM ET).

Adam Alexander calls Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY SERIES race with analyst Michael Waltrip and driver analyst Brad Keselowski. Keselowski is one of seven NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES drivers announced as part of a rotation in the FOX and FS1 booth for FOX Sports’ coverage of the 2016 NASCAR XFINITY SERIES season. Also scheduled as guest analysts are Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Clint Bowyer, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin and Danica Patrick. Reporting from the XFINITY Series pits at Dover are Jamie Little, Chris Neville and Matt Yocum. Danielle Trotta hosts race coverage alongside McReynolds.

Welch calls NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES action Friday alongside analysts Phil Parsons and Michael Waltrip, with pit reporting by Hermie Sadler and Kaitlyn Vincie. NCWTS SETUP, hosted by John Roberts and two-time series champ Todd Bodine, sets the stage for the Truck Series race at 5:00 PM ET on FS1.

Below are quotes from FOX NASCAR’s McReynolds on the week’s headlines and the race ahead, as well as the full FOX NASCAR programming schedule from Dover:

On how many wins Kyle Busch could earn this year:

“Kyle has won three of the first 11 races this season. He had eight in 2008, his first year with Joe Gibbs Racing, and he’ll still be climbing when he hits eight this year. I’m looking for him to win nine or 10 races this season.”

--Larry McReynolds

On Martin Truex Jr.’s bad luck at Kansas after dominating the race and when he might find his way to Victory Lane in 2016:

“What happened Saturday night at Kansas with the lug nut getting wedged in the hub of the wheel of the No. 78 car was a freak occurrence. That wasn’t the result of bad strategy or anything the pit crew members did wrong. I’ve never seen a bolt break like that in my 35 years of racing. It just wasn’t his time. But you can’t continue running as well as Truex Jr. has and not eventually find your way to Victory Lane. His time is coming soon.”

--Larry McReynolds

On whether Kyle Busch could win at Charlotte and Pocono this season, making him the first driver in NASCAR history to have a win at all active tracks:

“Kyle is barely 31 years old and is inching close to accomplishing something no one in the history of NASCAR ever has. With the hot streak he is on, it’s kind of fitting the two tracks he hasn’t won at – Charlotte and Pocono – are coming up in the next month. Winning at both would be remarkable. With as goal-driven and young as he is, it’s not a matter of ‘if’ he will do it but ‘when.’”

--Larry McReynolds

On whether the new aerodynamics package has been a success on intermediate tracks:

“It has worked well. Kansas was a bit of a wake-up call, though, showing us teams are starting to make up some of the downforce NASCAR took away with the new package. So, NASCAR needs to examine taking a little more of the downforce away – and quickly.”

--Larry McReynolds
